Jambon du bon docteur

Today I cooked for my sister this dish my mother often cooked for us when we were children. I couldn’t find a recipe on the net, so I had to improvise a bit, but it turned out very delicious:

  • Heat oven to 220 degrees Celsius
  • Roll about 500g of ham and place them in a oven-proof dish
  • Mix together 5dl of cream (not really whole-foods, I know!), 1dl of Marsala and 4 tablespoons of tomato puree and 1 teaspoon of salt and pour it over the ham rolls
  • Place the dish into the oven for 20 minutes

It’s served together with parboiled rice. Enjoy! By the way: “jambon du bon docteur” is French and means “good doctor’s ham”. The idea behind it is probably that only a really good doctor would recommend you such an unhealthy meal as a diet :-)
